As many as 72 percent of organizations in the Philippines have already deployed or are piloting artificial intelligence (AI), yet only 17 percent say they can recruit and retain enough AI-skilled talent.

The figures highlighted a gap between AI ambition and workforce readiness, according to insurance broker Aon‘s inaugural Human Capital Trends Study 2026. The study surveyed 2,361 business, HR, and people leaders globally, including 504 respondents from Asia Pacific.

The study found that 94 percent of organizations expect AI to create new roles and reshape skill requirements. Strong HR data maturity provides a foundation for informed workforce decisions, with 53 percent of organizations reporting high levels of data maturity. However, only 20 percent have a clearly defined and well-understood employee value proposition, limiting their ability to connect workforce insight with engagement and retention.

A gap between employer intent and employee experience is also evident in benefits and compensation. While 71 percent of employees value customized benefits, only 9 percent report receiving them. On wellbeing, 77 percent of organizations believe their strategies meet workforce needs, yet only 25 percent report strong and visible leadership commitment.

Pay transparency remains underdeveloped, with only 13 percent of organizations reporting mature practices, and 55 percent have not benchmarked compensation recently.

The study identified three priorities for Philippine organizations, namely converting strong data maturity into actionable workforce strategies, strengthening compensation transparency and benchmarking, and aligning benefits design with employee expectations through personalization and clearer communication.

Rahul Chawla, partner and head of Talent Solutions in Southeast Asia for Aon, said organizations that align workforce planning, job architecture, and pay strategies with AI adoption will be better positioned to translate innovation into growth.
