Vinmec Healthcare System, under Vietnam’s conglomerate Vingroup, has launched a nationwide network of High-Tech Robotic Surgery Centers, establishing Vietnam’s first multi-connected robotic surgery ecosystem that links multiple robotic technologies across its hospital network.
In a statement last Friday, Vinmec said that Hanoi-bassed Vinmec Times City International Hospital would serve as the clinical coordination hub for the network.
For general surgery, Vinmec operates three robotic platforms: Da Vinci Xi at Vinmec Times City (Hanoi), Hugo RAS at Vinmec Da Nang (Danang) and Vinmec Central Park (Ho Chi Minh City), and Toumai MT-1000 at Vinmec Smart City (Hanoi) and Vinmec Can Tho (Can Tho). The Toumai MT-1000 also features 5G-enabled remote robotic surgery capability.
In orthopaedic surgery, Vinmec has deployed joint replacement robots including ROSA, MISSO, and CORI across multiple hospital sites, enabling personalized surgical planning and millimeter-level precision in implant positioning.
For neurosurgery and spine surgery, the network integrates the StealthStation S8, Mazor X Stealth Edition, and O-arm with StealthStation O2 imaging at Vinmec Smart City and Vinmec Da Nang, providing real-time navigation and intraoperative imaging.
Vinmec said it is the first healthcare provider in Vietnam to develop a “3-in-1” robotic surgery model built on personalisation, automation, and standardisation, combining preoperative 3D reconstruction, AI-enabled robotic assistance, and internationally recognised clinical standards.
Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan said he appreciated Vinmec’s vision of building a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing clinical care, medical education, research, and international collaboration, alongside the humanitarian value of the patient support fund.
Tran Trung Dung, CEO of Vinmec Healthcare System, said the network is built on a model of multidimensional connectivity linking experts, hospitals, and global technology partners, with the goal of positioning Vietnam as a regional destination for high-tech healthcare and precision surgery.
