Global digital infrastructure company Equinix, Inc. has on Wednesday announced an expanded collaboration with Cisco to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) innovation in Singapore.

Equinix said in a statement that organizations can deploy Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA, a full-stack, validated architecture designed to simplify and secure AI deployments, directly within Equinix’s Singapore data centers.

It is noted that the Secure AI Factory now brings AI power to edge, including retail stores, hospitals, warehouses with Cisco Unified Edge, an AI-ready edge infrastructure solution.

Together, Cisco and Equinix aim to provide a secure foundation to launch and scale AI projects.

As organizations across Asia-Pacific adopt AI, many struggle with legacy infrastructure, latency constraints, data sovereignty, and fragmented infrastructure. 83% of Singaporean organizations plan to deploy AI agents, yet only 1 in 10 say their networks are fully flexible and capable of scaling instantly, according to the 2025 Cisco AI Readiness Index.1

To bridge this gap, Equinix and Cisco offer an end-to-end architecture that scales workloads while maintaining strict data governance and sovereignty.

By leveraging Equinix’s interconnected ecosystem, organizations can work with over 2,000 technology companies to test configurations, understand connectivity requirements, and assess how AI deployments can be supported across data centers, cloud, and edge locations.

“Singapore continues to place the digital economy at the heart of its national growth strategy, investing in digital infrastructure, AI, quantum computing, connectivity and talent to strengthen its position as a leading digital innovation hub,” said Yee May Leong, Managing Director, Singapore, Equinix.

“As AI becomes more embedded in business strategies, organizations need to connect to their ecosystems, make informed decisions, and scale with confidence,

“Through our expanded collaboration with Cisco, we will help organizations extend their AI infrastructure from centralized data centers to distributed environments while keeping operational complexity in check,” she added.

Bee Kheng Tay, President, ASEAN, Cisco, said organizations scaling their AI ambitions need a foundation that is simple, secure, and scalable.

“Our collaboration with Equinix simplifies how customers build their AI infrastructures so they can focus on driving business value and innovation,” he added.

According to the statement, this initiative supports Singapore’s National AI Missions by providing the secure, edge-ready infrastructure required to scale AI transformation across critical sectors like finance and manufacturing, establishing the critical infrastructure needed to power the nation’s AI-driven economy.
