VinFast, the electric vehicle manufacturer under Vietnam’s conglomerate Vingroup, has appointed Pham Nhat Quan Anh, the eldest son of VinFast CEO Pham Nhat Vuong, as Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective May 23, as the company prepares for its next phase of global expansion.
In a statement on Monday, VinFast said Anh succeeded Le Thi Thu Thuy, who will step down as Chairwoman and member of the Board of Directors. The company said the leadership transition can strengthen the foundation for VinFast’s long-term and sustainable growth.
Thuy will continue serving as Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, a major shareholder of Vingroup.
Pham Nhat Vuong, CEO of VinFast, is also the founder and Chairman of Vingroup.
Anh currently serves as Vice Chairman and Standing Deputy General Director at VinFast Trading and Production JSC. He has played a key role in the company’s development, from its early operations in Vietnam to its international expansion efforts, VinFast added.
In a statement, Anh reaffirmed the company’s focus on long-term strategy, innovation, global operations, and customer experience.
Mr. Anh holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Singapore Management University. Before joining VinFast in 2019, he served as Deputy General Director and Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Vinpearl JSC, a hospitality company in the Vingroup ecosystem, between 2017 and 2019.
Since joining VinFast in February 2019, Anh has held several senior leadership positions in vehicle development, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and after-sales services. His previous roles include Deputy General Director of Global Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, as well as Director of the Planning, Program Coordination and Quality Inspection Division.
