GSM Green and Smart Mobility JSC (GSM), a ride-hailing service founded by chairman Pham Nhat Vuong of Vietnam’s top conglomerate Vingroup, has announced that Pham Thu Huong, the spouse of Vuong, as the new chairwoman.
Both Vuong and Huong are billionaires on the Forbes list. While Vuong has been on the list for years, Huong only joined it in February 2026.
According to GSM’s latest business registration announced on Wednesday, Huong succeeded Phan Thanh Long as chairwoman. The update comes after GSM merged with Green Future, a vehicle leasing firm founded by Vuong. Following the merger, GSM operates across taxi services, ride-hailing, vehicle leasing and purchasing, driver training, and other transportation services.
GSM is known for operating exclusively with motorbikes and electric vehicles produced by VinFast, the electric vehicle manufacturing arm of Vingroup.
The company now has a charter capital of VND43.4 trillion (about $1.6 billion). It is currently the largest ride-hailing service in Vietnam, holding more than 50% market share, according to market researcher Mordor Intelligence. GSM is also expanding regionally, targeting markets including Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
