Nutanix, a global hybrid multi cloud computing firm, announced Wednesday it has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SBS Transit Ltd, a Singapore’s public transport operator, to drive operational modernization and service excellence through hybrid multi cloud.

The duo said in a statement that in this MOU, they intend to collaborate and modernize SBS Transit’s information technology (IT) operations, enhance its service quality and accelerate its digital transformation journey using the Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP) solution.

The MOU, which covers “Infrastructure Design for Digital Future”, underscores the shared commitment of both organizations to leverage advanced cloud technologies to enhance public transport services in Singapore.

Under this collaboration, Nutanix will deliver its industry-leading hybrid multi cloud platform to support SBS Transit in four key areas.

Firstly, modernize IT infrastructure with a unified private or hybrid cloud infrastructure powered by Nutanix to centralize data management, enhance scalability, and provide high system availability for transport operations.

Secondly, enable real-time data collection and analytics using NCP to support fleet management, route optimization, and passenger flow monitoring.

Thirdly, strengthen reliability and disaster recovery capabilities with resilient, integrated backup systems to minimize potential operational disruptions.

Fourthly, optimization of IT operations and infrastructure costs through Nutanix’s simplified management and resource pooling capabilities.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with SBS Transit on this critical initiative to strengthen the digital infrastructure that powers the backbone of our Smart Nation,

“Modern transit systems, like Singapore’s and beyond, demand highly resilient, scalable, and intelligent cloud infrastructure to sustain the highest quality of service. With Nutanix’s solutions, SBS Transit can harness unified cloud management and real-time data analytics, directly translating into better service quality, optimized operations, and an enhanced travel experience for passengers,” said Ho Chye Soon, Singapore Country Manager at Nutanix.
