Malaysia’s technology solutions provider Insights Analytics Berhad has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Center Sdn Bhd (SAIC) to collaborate on the joint development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies across key economic sectors.

Insights Analytics said in a statement on Wednesday that under the MOU, the firm and SAIC will work synergistically to create sovereign AI platforms and advanced analytics solutions for the energy, water, construction, transport, and agriculture sectors, supporting Sarawak’s drive towards a smart, low-carbon and data-driven economy.

The collaboration also includes the establishment of pilot projects, demonstration sites and training programs to promote AI adoption, further strengthening Sarawak’s position as a regional hub for digital innovation.

SAIC, which is wholly owned by the Sarawak government, will provide research infrastructure, facilities, and institutional support for the initiatives, while coordinating engagement with government agencies, academia, and industry players to align regulatory and policy frameworks.

Insights Analytics, meanwhile, will contribute its technical expertise, proprietary AI platforms and research and development (R&D) capabilities, and lead the commercialization strategy to scale the deployment of AI and digital twin solutions in domestic and international markets.

Ts. Frank Wee, Managing Director of Insights Analytics, said the collaboration reinforces the company’s commitment to advancing homegrown technology solutions that support Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2030).

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our journey to build sovereign AI capabilities for Sarawak,

“By combining our technological innovation with SAIC’s institutional strength, we aim to accelerate the adoption of AI and digital twin technologies that drive efficiency, sustainability and smarter decision-making across industries,” he added.
