Global fintech firm IG Group Holdings plc has named Gavin Chia as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IG Singapore and Emerging Markets.
IG said in a statement on Tuesday that Chia assumes the role on September 1, 2025, subject to regulatory approval.
The appointment comes as IG prepares to expand its product offering across Asia.
A recognized leader in Singapore’s brokerage scene, Chia was formerly the Chief Executive Officer and founding employee of Moomoo Singapore, where he built the platform from ground up into one of the country’s top brokerages in just four years.
Known for his ability to scale businesses rapidly, forge strategic partnerships with regulators, exchanges and industry partners, Chia will now lead IG’s push into new markets and product categories.
“Singapore is a hub for increasingly sophisticated investors, and IG is well-placed to serve mobile-first clients looking for greater choice and deeper market access,
“Beyond Singapore, emerging markets present a tremendous opportunity as more individuals gain access to financial markets for the first time,” said Chia.
“There is a growing appetite for a wider range of investment options, and rapidly developing technologies such as AI and smarter trading tools will allow us to serve these markets more effectively,
“I am excited to join IG at this pivotal moment to build on its strong foundations and deliver its next phase of growth,” he added.
Matt Macklin, Managing Director of IG Asia Pacific & Middle East, said Chia’s track record in regulatory engagement, innovative marketing, and building high-growth platforms make him the ideal leader to take IG Singapore and emerging markets business to the next level.
“His leadership will be instrumental as we bring a broader range of investment and trading opportunities to clients across Asia,” he added.
Chia’s career spans senior leadership roles across leading regional and international financial institutions, including UOB Kay Hian, Haitong International, and PhilipCapital.
He holds a Master of Science in Business Analytics from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering with a Minor in Business from Nanyang Technological University.
