Malaysia’s property firm S P Setia Berhad has partnered with Antler Ibex, the corporate innovation arm of the early-stage investor Antler to launch of the Setia Al & PropTech Innovation Challenge.

The duo said in a statement on Wednesday that the program is a key initiative under the Bengkel Inovasi GLC (BIG) Program aimed at addressing two significant agendas: inclusive homeownership and improved construction quality.

These agendas are instrumental to Setia’s mission of creating sustainable and inclusive communities.

It is noted that the Malaysia MADANI agenda focuses on promoting equitable access to homeownership for all segments of society.

By leveraging artificial intelligence (Al), Setia aims to streamline the homebuying process, making it more accessible and efficient for potential homeowners.

This initiative underscores Setia’s dedication to ensuring that everyone can own a home, regardless of their background or financial status.

“Setia believes that the future of homeownership and construction is intrinsically linked to the transformative power of Al and technology,

“Through the Setia Al & PropTech Innovation Challenge, we are not just fostering innovation and collaboration; we are actively driving forward our vision of creating inclusive, high-quality housing that meets the needs of all Malaysians,” said Choong Kai Wai, President and Chief Executive Officer of Setia.

“This challenge represents a significant step in our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to address business challenges and improve the quality of life for our communities,” he added.

In line with these commitments, Setia invites innovative and capable startups to participate in the Setia Al & PropTech Innovation Challenge.

This challenge is designed to identify and support startups that are developing Al and proptech solutions that align with the MADANI and BIG agendas.

Selected startups will collaborate with Setia, gaining access to resources, mentorship, and potential investment to bring their innovative ideas to life.

“S P Setia is demonstrating forward, pragmatic leadership, working directly with startups on real challenges that matter to the industry,

“Their approach to innovation is the kind of ambition Ibex exists to support; real problems, real collaboration, and measurable outcomes,” said Deepak Jayaraman, Antler Partner and Global Head of Ibex.

Antler Ibex is a full-service vertical growth engine for established corporates.

Backed by Antler, an active early-stage venture capital firm that is led by a seasoned team of venture and growth specialists, Ibex helps corporates strategically engage with the $3.5 trillion global venture economy to unlock growth.

By connecting visionary startups and scaleups with real estate challenges that matter, the program aims to unlock scalable, tech-driven solutions for the future of housing and construction.

The Setia Al & PropTech Innovation Challenge invites startups to directly tackle these challenges by leveraging AI and technology-enabled solutions.

Meanwhile, the BIG agenda is dedicated to enhancing the quality of home constructions.

Through the integration of Al technologies, Setia said the firm is committed to improving construction processes, ensuring higher standards of safety, durability, and sustainability.

This agenda highlights Setia’s focus on delivering homes that not only meet but exceed the expectations of modern homeowners.

The challenge is open to startups and scaleups globally that can deliver AI-driven and technology-enabled solutions relevant to property development.

Applications open via the F6S platform and will close on August 31, 2025.
