MYStartup Accelerator Cohort has to date supported over 50 startups and facilitated a total investment of just under MYR 5.5 million ($1.3 million) by NEXEA angel investors — playing a key role in advancing Malaysia’s position as a regional startup hub.

Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd said in a statement on Tuesday that across five successful cohorts, the firm’s MYStartup Accelerator has provided early-stage startups with investment-readiness workshops, expert mentorship, and direct access to funding.

The accelerator is powered by Cradle under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) of Malaysia in partnership with tech startup accelerator and venture capital firm NEXEA.

“Having completed five cohorts, we’ve gained meaningful insights into the needs and challenges of Malaysian startups. These learnings will guide us in fine-tuning future accelerator programs,

“Our next focus is to expand its reach nationwide, ensuring that startups across the country have greater access to the support they need to grow, succeed, and contribute to Malaysia’s innovation-driven economy,” said Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, Group Chief Executive Officer of Cradle。

This year’s Cohort 5 Demo Day will spotlight the top eight startups, selected from a competitive pool of 747 applicants, showcasing cutting-edge innovation across artificial intelligence (AI), aquaculture, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, and smart retail technologies.

Out of the eight, five startups were awarded cash prizes from Cradle, while four will receive a combined MYR 800,000 ($189,170) in investment from NEXEA to accelerate their commercialization and scale their impact across industries.

Cohort 5’s Top Eight Startups:
1. Paix Tech Sdn. Bhd. – PAIX’s AI agents help large enterprises—including public-listed companies and multinational corporations (MNCs)—automate utility payments with high accuracy, reducing processing costs by up to 70 percent.

It is worth noting that the investments are poised to continue to grow as the startups grow and require more funding from angels and venture capitals.

“What began as a national effort to support early-stage startups has grown into a powerful platform that helped founders build sustainable, scalable businesses,

“Across the five cohorts, we’ve witnessed remarkable growth—for example Cohorts 1 and 2, with 85 percent of startups recording 50% to 100% year-on-year revenue growth,” said Ben Lim, Chief Executive Officer of NEXEA.

According to him, these results are a testament to what Malaysian founders can achieve when given the right guidance, funding, and ecosystem support.

As the program progresses, Cohort 5 stands as a strong reflection of the accelerator’s ongoing mission to empower bold, innovative, and scalable Malaysian startups, said the statement.

It noted the Demo Day not only celebrates these founders’ achievements but also signals the continued momentum of Cradle’s MYStartup Accelerator in nurturing Malaysia’s next wave of tech-driven success stories.
