AI Hay, a Vietnam-based artificial intelligence (AI)-powered knowledge discovery platform, announced Wednesday the successful close of its $10 million Series A funding round, led by Argor Capital, a Southeast Asia-focused venture capital.
Its existing investors, Square Peg, Northstar Ventures, AppWorks and Phoenix Holdings also participated in the round, bringing the total capital raised to over $18 million for the company, AI Hay said in a statement.
This round marks a significant milestone as AI Hay scales its mission to deliver hyperlocal, intelligent, and accessible AI tools to 100 million Vietnamese.
The Series A funding will support the company’s expansion into web-based experiences, continued product innovation across both education and entertainment use cases, and AI companions – making sure AI Hay sees deeper integration into Vietnam’s everyday digital life.
Founded by veterans behind Vietnam’s leading consumer platforms and a dedicated Vietnamese engineering team, AI Hay redefines knowledge exploration by merging generative AI technologies with social networking. Users can ask any question and receive reliable, context-rich answers drawn from large language models, curated local content, and a vibrant community of peers and experts.
More than a knowledge engine, the firm drives engagement through personalized discovery feeds, vibrant themed communities, and interactive social features, fostering meaningful conversations and connections.
The team is committed to building Vietnam’s definitive consumer AI platform, delivering intuitive and affordable AI solutions to millions.
Since its launch in May 2024, AI Hay has grown rapidly, becoming a daily habit for millions, with over 15 million downloads and more than 100 million questions asked and answered each month.
The firm’s momentum was further validated when it became one of only three Southeast Asian startups admitted to AWS’s Global Generative AI Cohort, underscoring its leadership in consumer AI.
As Vietnam pushes to become a leader in AI innovation, AI Hay said the firm is uniquely positioned to define the future of how a nation connects with information- transforming millions of lives, one question at a time.
“It has been a real privilege to witness AI Hay’s incredible journey over the past three years,
“From the outset, they were driven by a bold vision: to create a product that could meet the everyday needs of Vietnamese users,” said Piruze Sabuncu, Partner at Square Peg.
According to him, in that time, the firm has seen rapid advancements in underlying technologies, particularly with the emergence of large language models.
“Through it all, the founders and team at AI Hay have been unwaveringly tenacious, guided by a clear product vision and creativity,
“Today, their product is used by millions of users every day. We’re excited to see a homegrown champion emerging from this region, setting a powerful example for other founders that building world-class innovation right here is not just possible — it’s already happening,” he added.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Pisharody, Partner at Argor Capital, said that the firm was very impressed by the experience, depth and ambition of the founding team at AI Hay.
“The company’s ability to combine technical excellence with cultural relevance has unlocked standout user growth and engagement,
“We’re proud to support their mission to democratize AI in Vietnam, one of the world’s most dynamic digital economies,” he added.
