Malaysian government held MYStartup, in partnership with startup accelerator Growth Charger, has selected 26 high potential startups for the MYStartup Pre-Accelerator Cohort 3 Program.

MYStartup said in a statement on Friday that these 26 startups have been shortlisted from 136 applicants across Malaysia and will undergo a four-month tailored program.

According to the statement, the program aims to accelerate these startups towards achieving product-market fit and contribute to the overall success of the Malaysian startup ecosystem.

The selected startups cover four main sectors: green technology, smart living, hospitality, and digitalization, including data solutions, industrial internet of things (IoT), and robotics.

The selection process comes at the heels of the previous cohort MYStartup program, which saw similar high-potential companies such as Materials In Works, Sayur Kita School, Luwjistik, Axcyn, Certiify, and more, gaining a leg up through MYStartup.

“Malaysia’s economic success is dependent on the success of its entrepreneurs,” said Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke, Group Chief Executive Officer of Cradle, who powers MYStartup.

According to him, small and medium enterprises account for almost 98.5 percent of business entities in the country, accounting for 66 percent of the workforce.

“There is therefore an urgent need to promote an inclusive, high-performing, and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem,

“We are thrilled to witness Malaysian technology startups benefit from this program and anticipate the remarkable growth ahead of them,” he added.

He also noted Malaysia is rapidly emerging as a key player in Southeast Asia’s technology and innovation sector, aligning well with the Ministry of Science, Technology and
Innovation’s aspiration for the country to be in the top 20 global startup ecosystem by 2030.

Designed for dedicated startups aiming to validate their concepts, the Pre-Accelerator offers a comprehensive package.

This includes access to a mentor network, innovation hubs, and market exposure.

The program encompasses strategic learning modules, on-demand resources, hands-on mentoring, collaborative spaces, networking events, and strategic connections within
the ecosystem.

The goal is to assist startups in developing viable business models and unlocking growth opportunities.

“Throughout these four-months program, it’s all about Product-market fit,

“We are eager to witness remarkable achievements from the 26 startups spanning various sectors such as software as a service (SaaS), E-commerce & marketplace, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more,” said Iskandar Shafi’i, the Director of Growth Charger.

“Speak to your customers, refine your product and think about scale,

“We anticipate future accomplishments in the coming months under Growth Charger,” he added.
