1982 Ventures, the early stage venture capital firm focused on fintech and tech infrastructure in Southeast Asia, has announced the key hire of Amiyandra Suratman as Regional Venture Capital Ecosystem and Platform Lead based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
1982 Ventures said in a statement on Monday that her responsibilities will be to support the fund with strategic stakeholder relations including portfolio companies, limited partners, corporate and ecosystem partners.
It said the key hire marks the firm’s continued expansion as it prepares to launch its second fund targeted at $50 million.
According to the statement, Suratman comes to 1982 Ventures with extensive experience in managing partnerships, building platforms for startup founders and supporting corporates in fostering collaboration with the venture capital and startup ecosystem.
Prior to joining 1982 Ventures, she managed strategic synergy at MDI Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Telkom Indonesia, with
operations in Indonesia, Silicon Valley and Singapore.
She was in charge of managing the synergy between MDI Ventures startup portfolios and Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises and programs to escalate the value of the synergy among them.
Prior to joining MDI Ventures, she held senior roles in Sales, Business Development and Partnerships at Innovation Factory Block71 Jakarta, a partnership between National University of Singapore and Salim Group.
She successfully established a series of accelerators, market access and corporate innovation programs.
