Wang Lin, General Manager of Sales Indonesia, Huawei Cloud pointed out that the multi-language AI technology has helped companies in the era of globalization fulfilling the need to localize.

“AI translators can help not only the communication but also the learning of the language,” he said. “We need to talk to local friends. If we have the tools, this can help us and it’s totally amazing.”

At international conferences, AI translating tools can also help people to understand the content and communicate better, he noted.

E-commerce firm Wook’s senior product director Wan Chi Gang, who hails from China, shared his personal experience that he spent two years to learn Bahasa Indonesia when he started in the country. With AI technology, the learning process would have been quicker and communications with locals will be easier too, he said.

Indonesia-based gaming firm Indofun Founder Lee Zong Lei pointed out that in gaming, the AI technology can be especially useful as there are multinational players in a team and the players may be speaking different languages. Such technology is also making communication easier for us when visiting a foreign country, overcoming language barriers.

“Those working in a shopping mall may speak English. But those from the small shops may not speak English,” he said. With just a mobile phone and multi-language AI technology, one can easily enjoy shopping in a foreign land.

iFLYTEK Group Jeffrey Wang opined that in the future, the mobile internet will be more like a smart assistant. To achieve this, it will have to include multi-language recognition, multi-languages and natural language processing abilities.

He also said Indonesia, with many languages spoken in the archipelago, will be a potential large market for iFLYTEK.

Andry The, Chief Information Officer of KUPU, also said that the multilanguage AI technology can help companies in localization, communicating more effectively with their targeted audience in different and diverse countries like Indonesia.

KUPU is currently using IFLYTEK’s technology in developing its services. Founded in 2021, Indonesia-based KUPU is a mobile recruitment platform connecting job providers and seekers. The platform provides upskilling courses to increase employment visibility and ensure that each user has an equal opportunity.
