Pakistan-based road freight tech platform Truck It In announced on Tuesday a $3 million extension to its pre-seed round, taking the cumulative raise to over $4.5 million in just over four months.

The extension will power the national expansion of Truck It In as it is poised to become the largest trucking platform in Pakistan, the company said in a statement.

The extended round was again led by Global Founders Capital and Fatima Gobi Ventures. They have been joined by early-stage technology investment firms Picus Capital and Zayn Capital.

Previous pre-seed investors include Deosai Ventures, Zayn Capital, and +92 Ventures. The startup announced in April that it has raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed round.

Truck It In has partnered with strategic investors that are helping it tap into their local supply chains and also leveraging its regional connections for the next growth phase, the company said.

“We’re at the very early stages of transforming a critical industry and aim to help over 3 million businesses save $1 billion annually in supply chain inefficiencies. Our long-term aim is to streamline and digitize the logistics sector to create a ripple effect across the economy,” said Truck It In Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Muhammad Sarmad Farooq.

With this latest fundraise, Truck It In will expand its services and product features that will help scale to the next level.

Truck It In started operations in 2020 and aims to unlock more than $1 billion for Pakistani businesses through its trucking platform.

Global Founders Capital has backed over five hundred entrepreneurs worldwide over the past two decades, managing over $1.2 billion of committed capital and invests out of eighteen offices worldwide.

Fatima Gobi Ventures is a joint venture between Pakistani venture capital firm Fatima Ventures and Shanghai-headquartered VC Gobi Partners. The firm said it invests intelligently, using data collated from the flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystems of Northeast and Southeast Asia to identify companies locally that have the edge and drive to go beyond Pakistan’s borders.

Picus Capital is an international, privately financed venture capital company with headquarters in Munich and offices in New York, Berlin, London, and Beijing. Picus predominantly invests in pre-seed, seed, and Series A rounds and focuses on technology companies in the real estate, finance and insurance, HR, renewable energy, mobility, e-commerce, and healthcare sectors.
