Malaysia’s digitalization agency Digital Penang and TikTok Shop have closed their TikTok Shop Accelerator Program, recognising the top three sellers from the incubation cohort.

In a statement late last week, Digital Penang said the program, held before the year-end November 11 and December 12 mega campaigns, brought together 50 Penang sellers.

The accelerator began in May 2026 with a workshop that trained 25 local entrepreneurs on getting started with TikTok Shop. Twelve sellers then joined a 12-week incubation program from June to August 2026, receiving guidance on content strategy, TikTok Shop LIVE and overall e-commerce performance.

The 12 active sellers together generated more than MYR600,000 ($147,322) in gross merchandise value (GMV) during incubation. They reported a 50 percent rise in GMV, a 65 percent rise in orders, 90 percent more short videos, and a 31 percent increase in LIVE sessions.

The top three sellers were Kedai Fesyen Gayamu, Island Club, and Ferringhi D.

Ng Kwang Ming, CEO of Digital Penang, said the program reflects the company’s aim to speed up digital transformation for local entrepreneurs. He said Penang’s businesses have the products and drive to compete beyond the state. They need structured and hands-on support to turn digital tools into growth, he added.

Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, senior director of strategic partnerships at TikTok Shop Malaysia, said the program gives sellers guidance and consistency to bring their products to customers through content and LIVE. The company would keep working with Digital Penang and TikTok for Business to help more Penang sellers take advantage of discovery commerce, in line with its #JomLokal campaign to support local small businesses, she added.
