Tencent Cloud, the cloud unit of Chinese technology giant Tencent, and OmniOps, a Saudi Arabian AI infrastructure company, will jointly build sovereign AI infrastructure for enterprises in the Kingdom.

In a statement on Monday, Tencent Cloud said the two have reached a strategic partnership for the move. Under the partnership, Tencent Cloud will provide cloud infrastructure, including computing capacity and technical expertise.

OmniOps will contribute its inference technology, local deployment capability, and market knowledge to support enterprise AI platforms and model inference workloads for customers across Saudi Arabia.

Tencent Cloud emphasized its enterprise virtual machines, storage, and networking services can provide the foundation. OmniOps’ inference optimization engine can adapt to AI models to serve the hardware they run on. The cooperation can deliver capacity, lower token costs, and consistent performance as demand grows.

Poshu Yeung, senior vice president of Tencent Cloud and head of Tencent Cloud International, said Saudi Arabia is emerging as a leading hub for AI innovation, creating demand for scalable computing and advanced cloud capabilities. The partnership can combine Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure with OmniOps’ inference technology and local market knowledge.

Mehdi Tantaoui, chief product officer of OmniOps, said access to reliable computing capacity is becoming more important as organizations move AI into production. He said the partnership expands the infrastructure available for OmniOps’ platforms and inference workloads in Saudi Arabia.
