Malaysia-based insurer Tune Protect has launched TPXtra, a digital platform that brings insurance protection, associated services and travel-related benefits into a single account. The company announced the launch on October 15, positioning it as part of a plan to build more direct relationships with customers.
Customers can use the platform to access protection products and associated entitlements while choosing additional services from participating merchants. Tune Protect said the current ecosystem spans travel connectivity, airport lounges, ground transfers and mobility.
TPXtra is being developed by White Label Sdn. Bhd., Tune Protect’s technology arm. The company has traditionally sold many products through partner booking platforms, so the new service introduces another channel for maintaining an ongoing relationship after initial purchase.
Group Chief Executive Officer How Kim Lian said the company wants to increase the reasons customers return to the platform and expand its network of merchant partners. For merchants, the platform is intended to provide distribution alongside insurance services.
Tune Protect said additional offerings under the Motor Beyond and Home Beyond names are planned from late 2026 onward. It is also considering services in telehealth, motor care and everyday lifestyle categories.
The announcement did not quantify TPXtra user adoption, transaction volume or the economics of the new merchant arrangements. The availability and terms of protection remain product-specific, so customers will need to review actual coverage and exclusions before purchase.
