OPSWAT, a cybersecurity company focused on protecting critical infrastructure, and Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) will jointly strengthen operational technology (OT) cybersecurity education in Singapore.
In a statement on Wednesday, OPSWAT said the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding at GovWare 2026 for the move. Under the five-year agreement, OPSWAT will work with ITE to establish a dedicated OT cybersecurity lab at ITE College Central.
The lab can serve more than 150 students a year from the Higher Nitec in Cyber and Network Security course. Students would practice in a simulated environment using industry technologies and physical models of infrastructure such as power, water, and transport systems.
The training will cover threats in information technology and industrial networks, inspection of files and transfers, operational systems protection.
The two organizations also plan to cooperate on educator training, curriculum development, the sharing of technical knowledge, and joint industry projects.
Benny Czarny, founder and CEO of OPSWAT, said “Technology alone will not protect our critical infrastructure. People will.” He said the company wanted to help ITE give students practical skills to protect essential services.
OPSWAT Academy had more than 467,800 registered learners and over 292,400 certifications worldwide as of August 2026.
Seng Chin Chye, principal of ITE College Central, said OT skills matter more as Singapore’s industries digitize their operations, and that the partnership would give students industry-relevant exposure.
