FPT, among the largest tech firms in Vietnam Vietnam, and South Korea’s NAVER Cloud will jointly develop and sell artificial-intelligence (AI) services across Asia-Pacific.
In a statement on Monday, FPT said the two sides have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding for the move. The collaboration includes making NAVER’s large language model available to FPT’s business customers.
Under the preliminary agreement, the two companies will deploy AI for enterprises on FPT AI Factory, FPT’s NVIDIA-powered cloud platform for building and running AI. They will also cooperate to offer NAVER’s HyperCLOVA X model to FPT customers through it.
The joint teams can handle tasks ranging such as tuning GPU infrastructure and inference, running of a trained model to produce results, putting AI agents into production use. They aim to help other companies adopt AI without building their own infrastructure.
Le Hong Viet, CEO of FPT Smart Cloud, said FPT has built up its AI cloud through AI Factory and wants to bring AI models closer to business users across Asia-Pacific and beyond.
Le Xuan Loc, FPT Korea deputy director and chief delivery officer, said enterprise AI increasingly needs infrastructure, models, and engineering to operate as a single foundation. The NAVER tie-up can broaden the options open to customers.
Kim Yu-won, CEO of NAVER Cloud, said the partnership would pair NAVER’s AI technology with FPT’s AI Factory and enterprise reach to serve customers in South Korea, Vietnam, and the wider region.
FPT said it had operated in South Korea for more than a decade, with offices in Seoul, Daegu, and Pangyo. LG Electronics, LG CNS, Shinhan Bank, and Shinsegae I&C are among its key clients there.
