Stavian Group, a Vietnamese infrastructure developer, with backing from a U.S. government agency, has begun a feasibility study for a large AI and cloud data-center campus planned in Ho Chi Minh City.
In a statement on Friday, Stavian said its group member Stavian Hightech Infrastructure has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to lead the study for the campus. The project, called Stavian Digital Park, is funded by a grant from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
Telecommunications specialist APTelecom will work under Cushman & Wakefield on connectivity and digital-infrastructure planning, market development, commercialization strategy, and financial modelling.
The study comprises 15 workstreams covering market demand, site suitability, power, connectivity, cooling, financial viability, sustainability, regulation, and implementation. It will produce a master plan, financial model, and procurement framework.
As planned, the campus would span 300 hectares as a carrier-neutral development, with 300 MW of power in a first phase by 2030 and access to international subsea connectivity of up to 200 Tb per second, according to Stavian.
It can serve global cloud providers, enterprises, government systems, content-delivery networks, and AI workloads, with on-site solar and other renewable energy planned to lower its carbon footprint.
USTDA said the study would help attract financing and position U.S. companies to supply technology. The campus would use “trusted” technology and require customers to use secure equipment, the USTDA added.
The agency said the project fit its broader work on trusted, resilient digital infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific, including subsea cables linking Southeast Asian markets and the United States. The campus can attract hyperscale cloud and AI operators, including U.S. firms, as first customers.
Thomas R. Hardy, USTDA’s deputy director, said the partnership laid the groundwork for a project on trusted technology and would help meet Vietnam’s digital-infrastructure needs while creating openings for American firms.
