Vietnam’s conglomerate TNT Group and the United States-based data-center developer Infrakey DC Parks will jointly study building data centers in Vietnam of up to 1,000 MW.

In a statement on Monday, TNT Group said the two sides have reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the move. The project can require $10 billion in infrastructure investment, the Vietnamese firm said.

The agreement, signed in Texas, covers a study of the feasible number of large data centers for AI, cloud computing, and data storage. A first phase can target about 200 MW of capacity, with power aimed within 36 months of securing a site and grid allocation. Later phases can reach 1,000 MW, subject to feasibility, demand, grid capacity, and funding.

Under the deal, TNT would handle site searches and local coordination in Vietnam, while Infrakey would lead the development model, technical standards, financing, and feasibility study.

Infrakey DC Parks, based in Texas, is a subsidiary of investment firm Infrakey Capital and develops large data-center parks. Its flagship project, a 925-MW facility in Texas, is at an early stage.

The plan adds to a wave of proposed data-center projects in Vietnam as the country courts AI and cloud investment, though many remain at the study or memorandum stage.
