Alibaba is supporting Malaysia’s government-led AI untuk Rakyat program by making its MuleRun and WonderClip tools available as part of the initiative’s initial AI application lineup.
The program, run under the Ministry of Digital and implemented by MyDIGITAL Corporation through the Rakyat Digital platform, aims to benefit 100,000 Malaysians aged 18 to 30.
Participants can redeem access after completing learning modules
Participants who complete and pass the required learning modules will be eligible to redeem three months of complimentary access to selected AI applications offered through the program.
Alibaba’s two tools cover different use cases. WonderClip is an AI video creation platform that combines the company’s video and image generation models for tasks including script analysis, storyboard generation, video synthesis and post-production.
MuleRun is an AI agent and workflow automation platform designed to let users build, deploy and manage agents through natural-language interactions. Alibaba says it can automate multi-step work such as research, data processing, content generation and decision support.
Choong Hon Keat, general manager of Malaysia at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, said the initiative could broaden access to AI technologies and give young Malaysians more opportunities to build practical skills.
Part of Malaysia’s broader AI skills push
Rakyat Digital is a national digital learning platform operated by MyDIGITAL Corporation. It provides free modules in digital literacy and AI awareness as part of Malaysia’s broader goal of building an inclusive AI economy.
MyDIGITAL acts as a strategic change-management office under the Ministry of Digital and oversees implementation of the Malaysia Digital 2030 Action Plan.
Alibaba’s participation also extends its existing technology presence in Malaysia, including local cloud infrastructure and talent-development programs.
Access does not by itself guarantee practical adoption
Providing temporary access to AI tools lowers one barrier for younger users, but the program’s longer-term impact will depend on whether participants can translate introductory learning into repeatable skills, employment outcomes or business use.
The release does not specify how many of the 100,000 target participants are expected to use Alibaba’s tools specifically, nor does it provide completion targets or outcome measures for the three-month access period. Those will be useful indicators as the program develops.
