Razorpay Curlec has gone live with DuitNow Pay, giving Malaysian online merchants a new way to present participating banks and e-wallets through a single checkout entry point.
The payment gateway said it is among the first group of Payments Network Malaysia, or PayNet, participants to offer the service to businesses. The integration connects merchants using Razorpay Curlec to PayNet’s real-time payment infrastructure.
A unified payment choice
PayNet describes DuitNow Pay as a single application programming interface that consolidates multiple online payment channels. Customers can select a participating bank or e-wallet at checkout, authenticate within the institution’s own service, and return to the merchant after approving the payment.
Razorpay Curlec said its implementation places current and savings accounts, credit lines and e-wallets behind one standardized payment option. A searchable list is intended to help customers find their preferred provider without scanning a large collection of logos.
The company is positioning the launch as a way for merchants to reduce friction at the final stage of an online transaction. Claims about changes in conversion or abandonment rates will depend on merchant implementation and were not supported by independently audited results in the announcement.
Razorpay Curlec said merchants that enable the integration should also be able to receive additional DuitNow Pay functions as PayNet rolls them out. Saved payments and recurring payments for subscriptions, installments and scheduled billing were described as future capabilities, rather than features confirmed as generally available at launch.
Malaysia’s payment infrastructure expands
The launch comes as Malaysia’s national payment infrastructure handles rising transaction volumes. PayNet reported that it processed 8.44 billion digital payment transactions in 2025. The network operator said transactions involving non-bank participants grew 71.7 percent from the previous year.
PayNet also reported more than three million registered DuitNow QR acceptance points at the end of 2025 after 681,250 new locations were added during the year. Those figures cover the broader PayNet network and do not represent transaction volumes generated by the new Razorpay Curlec integration.
Razorpay Curlec is licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia and operates as part of India’s Razorpay group. It began in Malaysia with direct debit services and has since expanded into payment acceptance, payouts, subscriptions and billing.
For Razorpay, the DuitNow Pay connection is another step in building its Southeast Asian payments business around domestic infrastructure. The group acquired a majority stake in Curlec in 2022 and later used the Malaysian company for its first international payment gateway.
The company did not disclose merchant adoption targets, pricing, transaction forecasts or a timetable for the future saved-payment and recurring-payment functions. Malaysian businesses can contact Razorpay Curlec to enable the service.
