VentureTECH Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian government-backed impact investment company, announced Wednesday its strategic investments amounting to MYR 28 million ($7 million) into three Bumiputera-led high-growth, high-value (HGHV) companies.
The investments underscore VentureTECH’s commitment to supporting innovative Bumiputera companies developing technology-driven solutions for strategic industries, the firm said in a statement.
It noted Move Robotic Sdn. Bhd. (Move Robotic), Recove Group Sdn. Bhd. (Recove) and Edote Sdn. Bhd. (Edote) each offers differentiated technologies, scalable business models and strong commercial potential.
Together, their innovations advance industrial automation, digital inclusion and healthcare innovation, contributing to Malaysia’s technological capabilities, industrial competitiveness and long term economic resilience, it added.
“At VentureTECH, we invest in companies with innovative technologies that solve real-world challenges, strengthen strategic industries and have the potential to scale sustainably,
“Move Robotic, Recove and Edote exemplify the kind of Bumiputera companies we seek to support; companies that combine innovation with strong commercial potential while delivering meaningful socio-economic impact,” said Azizan Jaafar, Chief Executive Officer of VentureTECH.
According to him, VentureTECH’s role extends beyond providing capital. “We work alongside our investee companies throughout their growth journey, helping them strengthen their capabilities, unlock new market opportunities and scale sustainably,
“Through these investments, we are not only supporting promising businesses but also contributing to Malaysia’s long-term economic resilience and the aspirations of the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35),” he added.
According to the statement, as industries accelerate automation, businesses need locally integrated, end-to-end solutions tailored to operational requirements while improving productivity, efficiency and workplace safety.
Move Robotic delivers a complete warehouse and logistics automation ecosystem that integrates Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), autonomous material-handling solutions, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and pallet shuttle systems with its proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Robot Fleet Manager (RFM).
Rather than supplying standalone equipment, the firm brings robotics, storage automation and software together as one end-to-end solution.
Through Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS), customers can adopt these capabilities under a fully bundled subscription that supports implementation and reduces upfront investment requirements.
This makes automation more accessible and scalable, positioning Move Robotic to become the first Malaysian provider of a fully bundled RaaS solution.
Meanwhile, Recove is a Med-Tech commercialization platform dedicated to transforming research-driven healthcare innovations into market-ready medical technologies.
Working closely with universities, researchers and medical specialists, Recove bridges the gap between research and commercialization by transforming promising innovations into scalable healthcare solutions.
Having successfully commercialized NEORUBIN, a non-invasive newborn jaundice screening device, the company is currently advancing additional medical technologies through its growing innovation pipeline.
The partnership with VentureTECH will accelerate product commercialization, helping more Malaysian-developed technologies reach hospitals, healthcare providers and patients.
Meanwhile, as a Malaysian assistive technology company, Edote is focused on improving digital accessibility for the visually impaired community.
The company developed eBrelle, the first standalone Braille laptop in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, enabling visually impaired users to access, create and interact with digital content independently.
By integrating proprietary hardware, software and accessibility-focused applications into a single platform, the firm is helping to reduce barriers to education, employment and digital participation.
VentureTECH said with its support, Edote is well-positioned to expand its manufacturing capabilities, strengthen its product portfolio and bring its home-grown assistive technology to more users across Malaysia and the region.
These investments reflect VentureTECH’s continued commitment to backing Bumiputera companies with the ambition and capability to compete at regional and global levels, said the statement.
By investing in technologies that address real-world challenges, it said VentureTECH is strengthening Malaysia’s innovation ecosystem while creating sustainable socio-economic value for the nation.
