Berlin-based multimodal travel booking platform Omio has raised $10 million in a strategic investment from Granite-Integral to accelerate its expansion in Japan and strengthen its presence across Southeast Asia.

Granite-Integral is a joint venture between Singapore’s Granite Asia and Japan’s Integral Corporation, Omio said in a statement on Wednesday. The venture strives to invest in high-growth technology companies expanding into Japan and Japanese companies seeking international growth.

Granite-Integral will support Omio in deepening its transport network across Japan and Southeast Asia, strengthening local partnerships, refining its customer offering, and growing its regional teams in Japan and at its AI-focused technology hub in Singapore.

In Japan, Omio launched earlier in 2026 and is seeing demand from international travelers booking journeys along the Golden Route as well as more remote destinations including mountain regions, sacred routes, and coastal communities.

Omio currently offers bookable transport options across 48 countries and serves more than one billion users annually. The company plans to expand into more than 70 markets worldwide by 2028, with Japan and Southeast Asia as priorities.

Naren Shaam, Founder and CEO of Omio, said Japan is one of the most active travel markets globally but that planning journeys across different operators and transport modes remains complex, particularly beyond major cities. Shaam said the partnership with Granite-Integral is intended to accelerate connected travel in Japan and expand Omio’s presence across Southeast Asia.

CK Choun, Co-Head of Granite-Integral, said Japan and Southeast Asia represent significant long-term opportunities in global travel, with growing demand for connected journeys across the region, and that Omio’s multimodal platform has the technology and transport network to address increasingly fragmented travel experiences.
