The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced Monday a call for applications and nominations for the 2026 Global FinTech Hackcelerator and the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) FinTech Excellence Awards.
The winners will be announced at the SFF FinTech Excellence Awards Dinner on November 19, 2026, the regulator said in a statement on Monday.
This year’s Global FinTech Hackcelerator, organized by MAS in partnership with the Global Financial Technology Network (GFTN), invites FinTech firms and solution providers to submit proposals on how AI can be harnessed to address the following challenges:
integrating credit and fraud risk modelling in digital banking; reimagining of wealth management for a digitally native generation, and empowering SMEs to better assess, quantify and proactively manage their business risk exposure.
The Global FinTech Hackcelerator 2026 is supported by three Corporate Champions, each of whom has contributed problem statements drawn from live priorities within their respective businesses. GXS brings its expertise in digital consumer banking and financial inclusion through the secure and ethical use of technology and data.
Julius Baer contributes its perspective on serving the next generation of high-net-worth clients, while Zurich Insurance brings its expertise in helping businesses build resilience and manage risks.
Up to 20 finalists will be selected to pitch their solutions at the Global FinTech Hackcelerator Demo Day at the SFF on November 18, 2026.
The winner for each problem statement will each receive S$80,000 ($61,800) in prize money.
Following the competition, each Corporate Champion may select one finalist to conduct a pilot with, subject to mutual interest and agreement.
The Awards, jointly organized with the Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) and supported by PwC Singapore, seek to recognize innovative FinTech solutions by corporates and individuals that have been instrumental in transforming FinTech industry practices and spearheading the use of novel technologies in creating new growth opportunities, promoting financial inclusion and enhancing the delivery of financial services.
Eight Award winners will be announced at SFF 20265. The Awards will highlight solutions that have demonstrated significant impact and achievements, with this year’s thematic category spotlighting innovative applications in artificial intelligence.
First launched in 2023, the ‘FinTech Gives Back’ initiative continues to nurture the next generation of FinTechs and reward innovation by encouraging established players in the sector to invest in the future of financial technology.
In 2025, nine members of the FinTech community — Ripple, Visa, HeyMax, Aspire, Experian, LexisNexis, Sumsub, Syfe, and YouTrip — contributed generously to the Awards, demonstrating their commitment to supporting emerging innovations and giving back to the ecosystem.
