Vietnam-based Goertek Technology Vina Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chinese manufacturing giant Goertek, has invested VND527.1 billlion ($20 million) more in its factory in the northern province of Bac Ninh, according to its draft environmental impact assessment sent to the provincial authorities.

After the change, the project’s total capital went up from VND12,955.5 billion to VND13,482.6 billion ($512.3 milllion).

In line with the capital increase, Goertek seeks permission from the provincial authorities to expand its production. The annual output is set to hike by 0.67 percent or 20.2 million items, totaling 3.01 billion items.

The additional products include 20 million cameras and 168,000 earphones and accessories. As a result, camera production can reach 32.5 million items annually.

The draft document did not specify the timeline for the change.

Besides, Goertek Vina seeks permission to up its production of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from 45,000 to 60,000 items annually, without other details. The products are under brands of WING/7000 WB MP3, WING 7000 W-B, Wing Hummingbird 8000-A, and others.

As of end 2025, Goertek, a supplier to Apple, invested approximately $1.3 billion in Vietnam, with four entities.
