VinDynamics, a robotics company under Vietnam’s conglomerate Vingroup, and Germany’s motion technology firm Schaeffler will collaborate on research and development in humanoid robotics.

The two sides have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the move, Vingroup said in a release on Tuesday.

The agreement focuses on joint efforts to develop and optimize key components for humanoid robots, including actuator systems and motors. As part of the collaboration, Schaeffler will provide prototype actuator components for evaluation, while VinDynamics will assess and refine control software to ensure compatibility and integration with the hardware.

Both companies will share technical information and expertise under agreed confidentiality terms. The partnership also outlines potential future cooperation following a defined start of production, including support in product simulation and validation to improve system performance and reliability.

VinDynamics can provide operational data from actuator systems, which Schaeffler may utilize to enhance its designs. The collaboration aims to support advancements in complex components critical to humanoid robotics, particularly actuator systems and motor assemblies.
