Electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast, under the ecosystem of Vietnam’s conglomerate Vingroup, has signed memoranda of understanding with 14 e-scooter distributors in the Philippines, as part of its plan to expand its retail and service network ahead of a market launch scheduled for June 2026.
In a release on Monday, VinFast said the agreements involve established motorcycle distributors. They included Wheeltek Motor Sales Corporation, Gentrade International Phils., Inc. (Transcycle), Superbikes Corporation, Motoxpress Sales Corporation, FMN Industrial Corp., Eduhome Enterprise, Inc., Keymotors Incorporated, Motorpro by Abenson Ventures Inc. and Aserco, Moto Atelier Inc., Ciclo Suerte, HG Motorzone, HGC Main Marketing (Motorboy), BLC Cycle Parts Supply, and Auto Ten Trade & Services Corp.
Under the partnerships, VinFast and its distributors plan to develop a network of showrooms across key urban areas such as Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, as well as provinces including Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Bulacan.
The initial product lineup will include battery-swapping electric scooters such as Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, along with additional models planned for future release. VinFast highlighted products will adapt to the local infrastructure and usage conditions.
The Philippines, one of Southeast Asia’s largest motorcycle markets, has seen rising interest in alternative mobility options amid urban growth and fluctuating fuel prices. Electric scooters are being considered as a potential option in this shift.
VinFast is also planning to develop supporting infrastructure, including a network of approximately 30,000 battery-swapping stations nationwide, in cooperation with partners. The company’s broader strategy includes expanding its e-scooter business across other regional markets such as Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.
