Singapore-based technology firm Grab has on Wednesday unveiled 13 new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features at its annual GrabX 2026 showcase, upgrading its superapp into an “Everyday Guide” for millions of users across Southeast Asia.
The launch spans services for consumers, travelers, merchants, and driver-partners, all powered by the company’s proprietary Grab Intelligence Layer, which draws on insights from 20 billion rides and orders, the firm said in a statement.
“For consumers, merchants, or drivers, we want Grab to handle the manual tasks so you can focus on your day,” said Philipp Kandal.
Consumer-facing features include Group Ride, which optimizes pickups and fares for up to four passengers, Grab More for synced multi-merchant orders, and Grab AI Assistant, a personal concierge for food, shopping, and planning.
GrabMaps now offers indoor navigation, electric vehicle (EV) charger locations, and real-time parking availability.
Travel-focused tools include Personalized Travel Experience, GrabStays hotel bookings, Discover for local dining recommendations, and GrabPay for Travel, enabling seamless payments across Southeast Asia.
For merchants and drivers, tools like Virtual Store Manager, Cloud Printer, Tap to Pay, and Driver AI Assistant leverage AI to streamline operations, monitor foot traffic, automate workflows, and provide real-time guidance to improve efficiency and earnings.
The launch builds on Grab’s Early Access Program, now with 200,000 users contributing feedback that shaped these features. Products will roll out by market, subject to regulatory approvals and partner readiness.
GrabX 2026 signals the company’s push to integrate AI into everyday life, aiming to reduce friction in urban living while supporting the business ecosystem across Southeast Asia.
The products will roll out by market, subject to regulatory approvals, licensing, and partner readiness, and product names, capabilities, fees, and timelines may vary by country, said the statement.
