VinEnergo, the energy arm of Vietnam’s top conglomerate Vingroup, has secured development agreements for a 10 gigawatt (GW) overseas renewable energy portfolio spanning Denmark, Sweden and the Philippines.
In a statement on Wednesday, the company said the 10 GW portfolio across Europe and Southeast Asia lays the groundwork for its longer-term ambition to develop 100 GW of renewable energy capacity over the next three years. Half of that total—50 GW—is earmarked for key international markets with strong clean energy policy frameworks and rapidly rising electricity demand. The development is the first phase of a broader global expansion that also targets the United States and Mediterranean markets, VinEnergo highlighted.
In Northern Europe, VinEnergo has partnered with Denmark-based GreenGo Energy to co-develop 2 GW of renewable energy projects in Denmark and Sweden. Over time, the company plans to scale its total capacity across the European market to 6.2 GW.

In the Philippines, VinEnergo will co-develop 1.3 GW with NKS Renewables Inc, 1.2 GW with URG Asia Corporation, and 1.3 GW with 11.11 Growth Properties. The projects are concentrated in high-irradiation areas across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
In the joint ventures, VinEnergo holds more than 80% ownership and acts as lead developer, overseeing capital mobilization, construction and long-term operations. Several projects broke ground in early 2026 and are expected to begin commercial operations between 2027 and 2028.
Beyond the initial 10 GW portfolio, the company aims to raise its international renewable pipeline to 20 GW in the first quarter of 2026, with at least 8 GW of additional projects in Southeast Asia and Africa to be signed during the period. It is also exploring opportunities in emerging markets with growing power demand and decarbonization commitments.
A central component of the strategy is VinEnergo’s in-house battery energy storage system (BESS) capability, enabling the integration of storage solutions to stabilize grids, manage intermittency and comply with increasingly stringent dispatch requirements. Standardized engineering and centralized procurement are expected to improve efficiency and mitigate construction and operational risks.
VinEnergo CEO Nguyen Anh Khoa said the secured 10 GW pipeline demonstrates the company’s capacity to execute complex, cross-border renewable energy projects at scale.
