Singtel’s Digital InfraCo announced Tuesday the launch of a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Applied AI with NVIDIA as part of the group’s strategy to build a strong, trusted artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem for Singapore.
Singtel said in a statement that the CoE will bring together AI infrastructure, frontier model, applications, solution providers and global expertise to address real-world industry challenges, while supporting talent development through hands-on exposure to AI technologies.
This will help enterprises and government agencies to conduct AI pilot programs more rapidly and at lower costs, deepen their capabilities and translate these pilots to production stage, supporting their long-term AI ambitions.
“Nxera has been developing the next-generation of industry-leading and sustainable, AI-ready data centers in Singapore and the region,
“Together with RE:AI, our high-performance sovereign AI cloud and our extensive network infrastructure, we are support the AI transformation for enterprises and industries at speed and scale,” said Bill Chang, Chief Executive Officer of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo unit.
According to him, the firm’s strategy goes beyond building state-of-the-art AI infrastructure.
“We have seen many organizations struggle to move from the excitement of AI to meaningful impact, which is why the Centre of Excellence for Applied AI with NVIDIA is a critical pillar of our strategy,” he said.
Through this collaboration, he noted the firm provides access to world-class AI platforms, models, applications, expertise and training, helping enterprises learn, experiment, develop their capabilities to harness AI responsibly.
“We are bringing the ecosystem together, one that transforms ambition into real-world outcomes, and potential into lasting economic and societal impact – further contributing to advancing Singapore’s National AI imperative,” he added.
These efforts align closely with Singapore’s recently announced Budget 2026 to harness AI as a strategic national advantage and drive the transformation of key sectors through AI Missions, said the statement.
It is noted that as AI adoption accelerates across enterprises and the public sector, many organizations in Singapore continue to face challenges moving beyond experimentation to scaled deployment.
While pilots are increasingly common, operationalizing AI at scale is often constrained by infrastructure complexity, skills gaps and the rapid pace of technological change.
At the same time, demand for AI compute continues to rise, driven by larger and more compute-intensive models.
Against this backdrop, tCoE provides structured and holistic pathways for organizations to develop, validate and deploy AI solutions at greater speed, scale and lower costs.
In addition, as AI becomes more deeply embedded in mission-critical systems and decision-making, organizations increasingly require assurance that their data is protected, governed and compliant with local requirements.
RE:AI, the sovereign AI cloud provider in Singapore, enables organizations to harness powerful AI capabilities while retaining control over where data resides, how it is used and how it is secured.
The CoE for Applied AI builds on this foundation by integrating NVIDIA’s platforms, models and blueprints with Singtel’s AI cloud, data centre and network capabilities, creating a trusted environment for applied innovation.
“By combining NVIDIA AI infrastructure with Singtel’s sovereign AI cloud, we are enabling a secure and collaborative space where organizations and government agencies can progress from trials to scaled deployments with confidence,
“This initiative will empower businesses and public agencies to unlock new opportunities with AI, strengthen local talent, and drive impactful innovation,” said Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecommunications at NVIDIA.
According to the statement, the CoE will be a hands-on environment where enterprises and government agencies can bring real-world problem statements, experiment with use cases and test solutions.
Through direct access to NVIDIA’s platforms and specialists, alongside Singtel’s cloud, network and security experts, organizations can identify what works, build minimum viable products and develop clear roadmaps for deployments at scale.
According to the statement, the joint CoE will focus on four areas to drive sovereign AI innovation and adoption among enterprises and government agencies.
This includes developing designs for Nxera’s data centers to accommodate next-generation NVIDIA are critical for complex large language models to enable mission-critical AI and will demand over 600KW power density per rack the highest energy and water efficiencies; building and curating an AI ecosystem of model , applications and solution providers to enable enterprises’ AI transformation at speed and scale; developing and enhancing Edge AI capabilities with low latency networks to enable physical and embodied AI use cases such as autonomous systems, robotics; and cultivating deep AI talent with a focus on applied AI skills and knowledge for organizations through these R&D projects to support their long-term AI adoption plans.
By aligning advanced infrastructure with applied expertise and strong ecosystem partnerships, the CoE reinforces Digital InfraCo’s leadership in enabling enterprises and the public sector to adopt emerging AI technologies responsibly and effectively – translating AI potential into sustained economic and societal value, said the statement.
