Japanese multinational electronics conglomerate, Sony, has partnered with Singapore-based insurtech bolttech, to launch My Sony Care+, an embedded protection program designed to give customers extended coverage for their devices.

This initiative is further supported by Tokio Marine, strengthening the program’s value and reliability, the duo said in a statement on Tuesday.

Building on Sony’s existing My Sony Care extended warranty service, the program introduces complimentary accidental and liquid damage (ADLD) cover, offering Sony customers a more complete and convenient way to protect their devices throughout their lifecycle.

Starting mid-December, Sony customers in Hong Kong can enjoy coverage for cameras and lenses with My Sony Care+.

In 2026, the program will expand to include additional Sony products such as Xperia smartphones, televisions, portable music players, and over-ear headphones.

Customers can purchase My Sony Care+ within 30 days of buying a new Sony product, ensuring their devices are protected from the moment they are unboxed.

“At Sony, our customers’ experience extends long after the moment they purchase our products. With My Sony Care+, we are taking an important step toward giving our customers even greater confidence in the devices they rely on daily,

“By expanding our protection offering with the support of bolttech, we are ensuring that Sony users enjoy reliable, convenient and comprehensive aftersales care for years to come,” said Yoshimasa Hashimoto, Director, Customer Engagement Division, Hong Kong, Sony.
