Malaysia-based clean energy firm Solarvest Holdings Berhad has secured an MYR 320 million ($77.99 million) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract under the large scale solar 5 program (LSS5).

The project, with a capacity of 99.99 MWac, is awarded by
Wawasan Demi Sdn. Bhd., a 63 percent-owned subsidiary of AIZO Group Berhad, Solarvest said in a statement on Thursday.

The project located in Kampar, Perak, and is scheduled commercial operation on October 30, 2027.

Once commissioned, it is expected to generate approximately 205,709MW of clean energy annually, offsetting around 159,219 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Solarvest’s Executive Director and Group Chief Strategy Officer Leon Liew Chee Ing said delivering these projects requires advanced technical capabilities in sustainable design, smart engineering, and operations management.

“We are committed to completing this project safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards, while making a meaningfully contribution to Malaysia’s clean energy goals,” he added.

This project marks another key milestone for Solarvest, as the group continues to strengthen its order book, which now stands at MYR 1.6 billion ($380 million) following the announcement of its second quarter financial results.

“This collaboration reflects our shared vision to accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy in Malaysia,

“The awarding of this EPCC contract marks a crucial step toward realizing our second large scale solar venture in Peninsular Malaysia, further strengthening AIZO’s foothold in the renewable energy sector and laying the foundation for the group’s expansion into new markets, including planned renewable energy initiatives in Sarawak,” said Abang Abdillah Izzarim, Executive Chairman of AIZO Group Berhad.
