Vietnam-based technology firm FPT Corporation, through FPT Software Japan Co., Ltd. (FPT), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) and Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) to jointly explore digital healthcare solutions through the integration of Dynamic Digital Radiography (DDR) and artificial intelligence (AI).
FPT said in a statement on last Friday that this initiative will leverage expertise across sectors to improve public health in Vietnam while ultimately reducing the workload of healthcare professionals in diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases.
With support from the Vietnam National Innovation Center, Konica Minolta will work closely with local medical institutions to identify key research areas in DDR and AI, while FPT focuses on building AI-powered solutions and data collection systems that seamlessly integrate into the digital healthcare ecosystem.
By combining Konica Minolta’s state-of-the-art DDR technology and imaging AI with FPT’s AI expertise, this partnership is set to pioneer diagnostic tools that enhance the early detection of respiratory diseases and automate the generation of medical reports.
The research also plans to prioritize the development of sophisticated yet accessible medical indicators for respiratory conditions through DDR imaging, alongside AI-powered tools designed to detect early disease markers and improve diagnostic accuracy.
Konica Minolta’s proprietary DDR technology offers a new approach to motion-based diagnostics by transforming conventional X-ray systems to capture moving images through digital dynamic radiography.
Deployed in healthcare institutions across Japan and globally, this technology holds over 300 patents and has been installed in more than 400 medical facilities worldwide.
