Malaysia-based digital payment firm TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (TNGD) has formalized a strategic partnership with e-money issuer Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd to enable fuelling and payments right at the pump via TNG eWallet, available at over 1,000 Petronas stations nationwide.
The duo said in a statement on Monday that this landmark integration brings Setel’s proprietary pump-and-pay technology to one of Malaysia’s largest digital wallets.
The collaboration, formalized through a recent memorandum of understanding (MoU), allows users to pay for fuel seamlessly without leaving their vehicle or needing to download a separate app.
The new feature is available through the ‘Petronas via Setel’ mini program within the TNG eWallet.
“This partnership with Setel supports our goal of integrating practical, everyday services into the lives of our users,
“Fuel payments are a regular routine for many individuals, and this collaboration makes the process faster and more accessible, while creating new touchpoints within Petronas’ nationwide network,” TNG Digital Chief Executive Officer Alan Ni said.
“We actively encourage partnerships that not only enhance convenience for users, but also give our partners the opportunity to reach a wider, digitally engaged audience,” he added.
According to the statement, this partnership also reflects Setel and TNG Digital’s shared ambition to make everyday mobility smarter and more rewarding – merging fuel, payments and loyalty into one integrated experience for Malaysian motorists.

Established in 2017, TNG Digital, the operator of TNG eWallet, is Malaysia’s largest and leading fintech company, with over 23 million verified users.
The firm facilitates payments for over 2 million merchants in Malaysia, allow cross-border payments in more than 50 countries, as well as international payments through our partnership with Visa.
The firm’s full suite of products also include financial services such as investments, lending and credit, remittances, and insurance.
Introduced in July 2018, Setel is a mobile platform aims to enhance and simplify mobility for customers across Malaysia.
Through Setel, users can effortlessly manage fuel payments, parking, electric vehicle (EV) charging, motor takaful and insurance, road tax renewal.
