Ant International has achieved real-time cross-bank liquidity management with three banking partners in Hong Kong, using tokenised deposits under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s EnsembleTX program.

In a statement on Tuesday, Singapore-based Ant International said it completed a series of live Hong Kong dollar interbank transactions with Bank of China (Hong Kong), China Construction Bank (Asia) and HSBC, between September and October 2026.

The transfers were settled through the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)’s central bank money system. Ant International said it initiated them through WhaleRTP, its blockchain-based wholesale settlement platform. Each transaction moved from payment instruction to final receipt within five minutes.

Ant International noted the infrastructure lets it automate transaction execution, access liquidity around the clock, and manage cash in real time within Hong Kong. This can reduce its reliance on pre-funding for liquidity movements and lower the working capital it needs.

Ant International is moving next into agentic treasury, in which software agents make and carry out treasury decisions.

Kelvin Li, general manager of platform technology and senior vice president at Ant International, said EnsembleTX has laid the groundwork for agentic treasury. FalconTST’s real-time intelligence paired with WhaleRTP’s settlement layer can let AI agents make and execute decisions in continuous flows. He credited the HKMA’s guidance for the progress.

Ant International has taken part in the EnsembleTX sandbox since 2024 and has been a Project Ensemble Architecture Community member since 2025.
