AICAP Group, a Vietnamese robotics company, will purchase 1,000 robots from members of the China Robot Industry Development Alliance (CDRA) and bring international robot products into Vietnam.

AICAP signed the purchasing deal and announced a strategic partnership with the CDRA, robot software company AIBRAIN, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). The signing took place within the 4th Green Growth Show (GRECO 2026) in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday.

Per the cooperation, the CDRA will coordinate its members and connect robot suppliers, core technologies, and components. AIBRAIN will provide a platform for product selection, demand matching, and operations. AICAP will handle market development, sales channels, and local deployment partners.

In the first phase, the partners will focus on floor-cleaning robots for hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, and industrial zones. They also plan to use robots in research, teaching, training, and in performances-experiences at tourist sites and cultural events.

AICAP chairman Do Thanh Son said Vietnamese engineers have software and control-algorithm capabilities comparable to commercial solutions in the region. AICAP can utilize that capacity to build a smart production ecosystem.

Lim Yu Liang, CEO of AIBRAIN, said commercializing robots is not simply selling equipment. AIBRAIN will work with partners to study the Vietnamese market, select products and develop services suited to local conditions.

Besides, the event showcased 30 robot models from more than 30 manufacturers and research institutes working in robotics and AI. AICAP, CDRA, and HUTECH also signed a cooperation agreement covering research, training and application testing for robots, including industrial, collaborative, humanoid and service robots, along with software and core components.

The International Federation of Robotics reported in September 2026 that the global stock of operating industrial robots rose 9 percent in 2025 to a record 5 million units. Factories installed more than 600,000 new robots in 2025, an 11 percent increase. The federation expects installations to rise a further 9 percent to about 655,000 units in 2026.

The “Vietnam Industrial Robotics Market Size, Share & Forecast 2026-2031” research estimated Vietnam’s industrial robot market at about $112 million in 2025, with forecast growth of 12.88 percent a year for 2026–2031.
