Asia Vital Components (AVC), a Taiwanese maker of cooling systems for computers and AI servers, plans to invest about $500 million more in Vietnam and build a research-and-development center there.
AVC highlighted its plan to Bac Ninh province at a meeting with the provincial authorities on Tuesday. Bac Ninh currently features three investments of AVC, totaling $760 million.
AVC has invested in Vietnam since 2020 and runs projects of two manufacturing plants and a staff-accommodation project.
The additional spending, planned for 2027, would raise AVC’s total investment in Vietnam to more than $1.26 billion. The R&D centre would train skilled workers in semiconductors and other high-tech fields, AVC said.
Bac Ninh, a industrial hub in northern Vietnam, is seeking to attract the new investment. Bac Ninh province affirmed it would facilitate the projects, especially in infrastructure, workforce, administrative procedures, tax exemption, and others.
Bac Ninh hosts about 3,700 foreign-invested projects worth $52 billion, with electronics and high-tech multinationals including Samsung, Foxconn, Luxshare, Amkor, and Canon.
AVC, or Asia Vital Components, was founded in Taiwan in 1991 and makes heat sinks, fans and liquid-cooling systems for computers, servers and telecom equipment. It has become a major supplier of cooling for AI servers, a fast-growing market as power-hungry AI chips generate more heat. The company reported about $4.4 billion in revenue in 2025 and employs more than 46,000 people worldwide, including about 14,000 in Vietnam.
