Ant International‘s payments arm Antom will distribute Google’s AI Plus subscription service across Asia through digital-payment and e-commerce networks, starting in Indonesia.

In a statement on Wednesday, Singapore-based Ant International said its merchant-payment and digitization brand Antom will promote Google AI Plus through A+Rewards, its in-app marketing platform. It will also promote Google AI Plus via a network of payment apps, e-commerce sites, and lifestyle services.

The aim is to widen access to Google’s AI tools for users in Asia, Ant International said, without any financial details.

The partnership began in Indonesia in July with a 12-month free trial of Google AI Plus for students aged 18 to 25. The offers are available through the digital wallets DANA and GoPay, e-commerce platform Tokopedia, and outlets of a local beverage chain MomoYo. It has reached about 10 million users in Indonesia so far, Antom said.

A+Rewards is integrated with more than 30 digital platforms and connects about 2.85 billion active digital-payment users, according to Antom. Beyond marketing, Antom said it consolidates billing, tax, risk management, and account services for AI companies across the subscription lifecycle. The service positions itself as a distribution and payments channel for global software firms in Asia.

Gary Liu, Antom’s chief executive and a senior vice-president of Ant International, said the company can simultaneously help AI firms reach local users through familiar apps and merchants and let its partners add services and deepen engagement.
