Moca Foundation and Moca Network have launched the Moca Chain mainnet, moving their blockchain-based digital identity infrastructure from development into a live network.

The Animoca Brands-backed organizations said on September 29 that Moca Chain is designed to let users carry verified credentials between applications while limiting how much underlying personal data is exposed.

Credentials replace repeated document sharing

Under the model described by Moca Network, organizations such as financial platforms, telecommunications providers, retailers and ticketing services can verify customer information and issue tamper-resistant credentials. A user can then present a digitally certified confirmation of an attribute or status instead of submitting the original identity document to every service.

The network is intended to reflect updates or revocations across integrated applications. Moca Network said this could reduce repeated verification processes and limit the amount of personal information that individual businesses need to store.

Those privacy and security benefits are assertions from the launch announcement. The organizations did not disclose mainnet transaction volumes, the number or distribution of validators, independent security-audit results, or how many partner integrations were already live at launch.

AIR connects identity, payments and loyalty

The mainnet launch is paired with AIR, Moca Network’s integration layer for identity, payments and loyalty. The company said businesses can use AIR either to convert their existing customer checks into credentials on Moca Chain or to accept credentials issued by trusted partners.

Moca Network is also extending the framework to software agents. Users can set authorization rules and define the actions an artificial intelligence agent may take on their behalf. Businesses can then check both the agent’s identity and the scope of its authority before granting access, applying prices or completing services.

The approach targets a trust problem emerging alongside agentic commerce: a merchant needs to know whether an automated agent is acting for a real customer and whether it has permission to make a particular request or transaction. Moca Network says its system can provide that verification without requiring the agent or its owner to reveal more personal data than necessary.

Partners span consumer and financial services

The organizations named SK Planet, Biletinial, Oyunfor, Open Campus, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Inveo Kripto, Plume and Nansen as members of the wider Moca Network and AIR ecosystem. The release did not distinguish between production deployments, pilots and planned integrations for every named partner.

Moca Network previously worked with South Korea’s SK Planet on identity and membership services. The new mainnet is intended to give those kinds of integrations a dedicated settlement and verification layer.

Animoca Brands describes Moca Network as its flagship digital identity project. The company says its broader portfolio provides access to more than 600 companies and an addressable audience of more than 700 million users. Those figures are company-supplied and do not represent confirmed active users of Moca Chain.

Adoption and governance remain the test

The network uses MOCA Coin as a utility and governance token, according to Moca Network. The launch announcement did not provide token-economics changes, adoption targets or revenue expectations, and this article does not assess token value.

Mainnet availability gives developers and partners a live environment, but the project’s commercial significance will depend on the number of credentials issued, the breadth of relying organizations, interoperability with existing identity standards and regulators’ treatment of decentralized identity systems.
