Malaysian payment solutions provider Gkash has become a direct participant of Payments Network Malaysia, strengthening its connection to national payment rails including DuitNow QR, MyDebit and FPX.

Gkash said the direct-participant model reduces reliance on an additional payment-participant layer for supported services and gives the company greater control over integration and transaction operations. The company did not disclose financial terms or transaction-volume targets for the arrangement.

The three payment rails cover different merchant journeys. DuitNow QR supports interoperable QR payments through participating banks and e-wallets, MyDebit supports debit-card payments at physical acceptance points, and FPX is widely used for online banking payments.

Gkash said it plans to use the direct connection as part of a broader online and in-store payment stack for Malaysian merchants.
