South Korea’s LG Electronics has joined NVIDIA’s partner network as a preferred supplier of power and cooling systems for AI data centers.

In a statement on Monday, LG Electronics said the move is in line with its expansion beyond consumer electronics, into the fast-growing market for cooling the servers behind artificial intelligence (AI).

LG Electronics now becomes a “Power and Cooling Solution Preferred Partner” in the NVIDIA Partner Network. Its 2.6-MW coolant distribution unit recently qualified as “NVIDIA DSX Ready,” meeting the chipmaker’s reference-design requirements for AI data-center infrastructure.

LG has also qualified 600-kW and 1-MWunits and plans to seek qualification for a 4-megawatt model by year-end.

The partnership marks a step in LG’s push into AI infrastructure, a newer business for a company better known for televisions and home appliances. It plans to target hyperscale cloud providers and colocation operators, particularly in North America, drawing on an in-house range of chillers, air handlers, and liquid-cooling gear.

James Lee, president of LG’s Eco Solution unit, said joining the network was a step in the company’s strategy to support the global AI build-out and to address the industry’s cooling challenges.
