Bonbon Mobility, a Vietnamese platform connecting car owners with garages and car-care providers, has raised $500,000 in a pre-seed round led by conglomerate Tasco, with GenAI Fund co-investing.
In a statement on Tuesday, GenAI Fund said the startup came out of Tasco Foundry Wash3000, a venture-building program run jointly by Tasco and GenAI Fund to develop businesses across Vietnam’s car-service market. Both Tasco and GenAI Fund are based in Vietnam.
Bonbon runs an online-to-offline model, adding a digital booking-and-payment layer over existing garages rather than building its own outlets. The team estimated the addressable market at more than 12,500 car-wash and vehicle-care sites in Vietnam, most of them independent operators.
Tasco is contributing its car-owner customer base, distribution, payment infrastructure and data, including its VETC electronic-toll network. Bonbon is responsible for building the garage network and the customer experience.
The money will fund expansion of Bonbon’s garage network, further work on its technology platform and new services, the company said. Founder and chief executive Nguyen Chi Dung said the funding would let the team develop the platform, add partner garages, and build tools to help service providers reach customers.
GenAI Fund cast the deal as an example of its “venture builder” approach of working with a large company to design and test a new business before investing, rather than waiting for startups to pitch.
Laura Nguyen, the fund’s chief executive and managing partner, said the model turns a corporation’s assets and scale into a launch platform while pushing the team to prove it can operate and deliver value.
The fund framed the investment against a cautious regional climate, citing data that Southeast Asia drew about $2.81 billion in the first quarter of 2026 across 98 equity deals, described as the lowest deal count in at least eight years. GenAI Fund said it is expanding the model with other enterprises across the region.
