Indian space technology company Pixxel has raised $100 million in a Series C round led by Singapore state investor Temasek and UK-based Seraphim Space Investment Trust, giving the company new capital to expand its satellite and Earth intelligence operations.

The round also included existing investors Radical Ventures and growX Ventures, as well as new backers 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment, according to Reuters. Pixxel said the financing brings its total funding to $195 million and represents the largest single funding round completed by an Indian space technology company.

Funding targets sensors and software

Pixxel plans to use the capital to broaden its data-gathering capabilities through its Honeybee satellite constellation and high-resolution optical imaging satellites. It also intends to continue developing Aurora, its Earth intelligence software platform, which is designed to combine different datasets and turn them into information that customers can use in operational decisions.

The strategy extends beyond adding spacecraft. Pixxel is building a stack that spans sensors, satellite manufacturing, data delivery and analysis software for commercial and government users. That model is intended to reduce the distance between collecting imagery in orbit and applying it to activities on the ground.

Seraphim Space Investment Trust had already disclosed a portion of the financing. In an August 4 regulatory announcement, the London-listed investment company said it was making a $25 million follow-on investment in Pixxel. The commitment was part of the first deployment from Seraphim’s £137 million C Share issue.

That announcement described Pixxel as a vertically integrated space infrastructure business with operations in India and the United States. Seraphim said the company had developed in-house satellite manufacturing capacity and secured Indian government contracts. The latest funding announcement adds Temasek as a co-lead and identifies the broader investor group, but Pixxel had not posted a corresponding funding release in its own newsroom at the time of writing.

Firefly provides the current foundation

Pixxel began by developing hyperspectral imaging satellites, which divide reflected light into many narrow wavelength bands. Compared with conventional images, the resulting data can help distinguish materials and detect changes that may not be visible to the human eye.

The company’s current commercial base is its Firefly constellation. Pixxel says all six Firefly satellites were launched in 2025 and are operating in orbit. The satellites are designed to collect high-resolution, high-frequency hyperspectral imagery globally.

Possible applications cited by Pixxel and Seraphim include agriculture, forestry, mining, energy, environmental monitoring, disaster response and national security. These are company-defined use cases, and the commercial performance of individual deployments has not been disclosed with the funding round.

Aurora is the software layer for working with that imagery. Pixxel’s product page describes the browser-based platform as bringing together open-source and third-party Earth observation datasets, models, indices and Pixxel imagery. Users can analyze defined areas, build repeatable workflows and connect through application programming interfaces without installing specialist desktop software.

India’s private space sector draws larger checks

Pixxel is among the companies that have grown as India has opened more of its space sector to private participation. The size of the Series C underlines the greater amounts of capital now being directed toward businesses that combine space hardware with software and data services.

The investment also adds a significant Singapore link through Temasek. For Pixxel, the next test will be converting the round into deployed sensing capacity and recurring use of Aurora while managing the technical and commercial risks involved in satellite programs.

The company has not disclosed a timetable for launching the Honeybee constellation or the planned optical imaging satellites in the materials reviewed. It also did not provide revenue, customer, profitability or valuation figures with the announcement. Those omissions limit the ability to assess how quickly the new capital may translate into operating scale.
