Vietnam’s technology giant FPT broke ground on a 10.5-hectare education complex in Dien Bien province, northwestern Vietnam on Tuesday, focusing on technology fields such as semiconductors and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

In a statement on Tuesday, FPT said the complex, named FPT Education Complex, would offer programs from primary school through postgraduate level. The complex is the first in the country’s Northwest region to cover all levels of education, FPT highlighted.

The first phase of the facility is set to open in the first quarter of 2028.

The complex would prioritize training in strategic technology fields at vocational and higher-education levels, alongside cybersecurity and other advanced technologies, FPT added. Its K-12 programs will combine general education with digital skills, technological thinking, and foreign-language instruction.

The project comes as Dien Bien, a province with an economy built on agriculture, forestry, tourism and services, seeks to accelerate its shift to digital industries. The province has worked with companies including FPT to pilot the use of drones in economic development.

Nguyen Van Khoa, chief executive of FPT, said the complex was part of the company’s contribution to education in the province and would help develop talent for emerging industries in the Northwest region.

The Dien Bien complex adds to FPT’s education network, including facilities in Hanoi and Hai Phong city.
