Bioactivx, a Singapore deep-tech startup developing synthetic materials for wound care, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round.

In a statement on Wednesday, Bioactivx said the round brings the company’s total funding to $4.9 million and follows a seed round of $1.43 million in November 2025. The latest round was co-led by the venture firm Cocoon Capital and Martin Krupp, managing director of the Swiss family office ContInvest, with other new and existing investors.

As a spin-off from Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the SingHealth healthcare group, Bioactivx makes a fully synthetic skin substitute, Bioactiv Matrix. The product can speed tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation without animal-derived materials.

Many conventional treatments rely on animal-derived collagen or skin grafts and can require cold-chain storage and sterile operating conditions. Bioactivx said its product needed neither and could therefore be used outside hospitals, including in military settings, emergency response, and remote or resource-limited areas.

Bioactivx would utilize the funding to expand manufacturing in Singapore, build up its commercial and regulatory teams, support post-market clinical trials, and develop a broader pipeline targeting chronic wounds, diabetic ulcers, and inflammatory skin conditions.

Bioactivx had submitted a full data package to Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority for regulatory approval. The company aimed to launch in Singapore, one of its first markets, in the fourth quarter of 2026, ahead of regional expansion in 2027.

Bioactivx’s roadmap extends beyond Singapore. Alongside its Health Sciences Authority submission, the company plans to file application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2026 and to submit the product under the European Union’s medical device rules in 2027.

It also plans a clinical feasibility study and the start of a Series A fundraising in 2026, a pivotal clinical trial and a move to automated manufacturing in 2027, and its first overseas manufacturing site and a regional headquarters in 2028.
