Global software firm SAP SE announced Monday the appointment of Ellian Teo as Country Managing Director for SAP Malaysia.

SAP said in a statement that in her new role, Teo will lead strategy, operations and customer success in Malaysia.

She will be responsible for helping businesses across the country accelerate their digital transformation, strengthen business resilience, and realize tangible value from cloud, data and AI innovation.

She will report to Liher Urbizu, President and Managing Director, SAP Southeast Asia.

SAP said Teo brings more than two decades of enterprise technology leadership experience to the firm.

Throughout her career, she has worked with major organizations across financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, government-linked companies and large Malaysian enterprises, and collaborated closely with Boards, CXOs, regulators, policymakers and technology ecosystems to support large-scale transformation programs.

“Malaysia continues to be an important market for SAP, with organizations across industries focused on modernizing their operations and adopting AI responsibly to deliver tangible business outcomes,

“Teo brings deep enterprise technology experience, strong customer relationships and a clear focus on people, partnerships and execution. I am confident she will build on the strong foundations laid by her predecessor and will play an important role in supporting our customers and partners in Malaysia as they move from intelligence to impact and accelerate their transformation and artificial intelligence (AI0 journeys,” said Liher Urbizu, President and Managing Director, SAP Southeast Asia.

Commenting on her appointment, Teo said SAP is uniquely positioned at the intersection of business transformation, data and AI, and they have a strong opportunity to help organizations rethink how they operate, innovate and grow.

“My focus will be on deepening customer trust, empowering our people, strengthening our ecosystem partnerships and helping Malaysian organizations realize tangible business value from digital and AI transformation,” she added.

Beyond her professional role, Teo is active in community initiatives that support women in leadership, technology and AI.

Through her involvement with the 30% Club community and women-in-technology initiatives, she advocates for stronger representation of women in senior leadership and supports mentoring efforts for women pursuing careers in cloud, data and AI.

Teo succeeds Vipin Chandran as Country Managing Director for SAP Malaysia. Chandran has relocated to Singapore with SAP, according to the statement.
