Tencent Hy3 (formerly known as Tencent Hunyuan), the latest large language model developed by China’s Tencent, is now available for international access, following the model’s official release on July 6.
In a statement on Wednesday, Tencent said the model is available through WorkBuddy, Tencent Design Miora, and Tencent Cloud TokenHub, with API access for developers across global platforms.
Hy3 recorded more than 68 times as many API calls as its previous-generation model and ranked first on OpenRouter’s global large language model usage leaderboard within one week of launch. API access on OpenRouter is priced starting at $0.1288 per million input tokens and $0.5336 per million output tokens.
The model is available under the Apache 2.0 licence on open-source communities including Hugging Face and ModelScope, and on third-party developer platforms including Hermes, Kilo, Cline, OpenClaw, OpenCode, and Cherry Studio.
Hy3 is built on a hybrid Mixture-of-Experts architecture with 295 billion total parameters and 21 billion active parameters, supporting a context length of up to 256,000 tokens. Tencent highlighted Hy3 can perform comparably to flagship models with two to five times as many parameters across reasoning, instruction understanding, code generation, and agent capabilities.
In internal evaluations within Tencent’s workplace environment, Hy3 delivered a task success rate exceeding 90 percent when used in WorkBuddy and reduced average task completion time by 34 percent compared with the previous Hy model.
Tencent Design Miora, an AI creative studio for design teams and content creators, has been connected to Hy3, combining the model’s reasoning capabilities with creative workflows spanning graphics, video, 3D, and user interfaces. Tencent Cloud TokenHub, a model-as-a-service platform, provides access to Hy3 alongside third-party models through a single API with intelligent model routing, transparent usage governance, and flexible billing.
Tencent Cloud is also working with South Korea-based e-commerce platform provider Cafe24 and Japan-based enterprise AI platform company Metelix to make Hy3 available through their respective platforms. Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure spans 66 availability zones across 23 regions, supported by more than 3,200 acceleration nodes worldwide.
